Jayanti has over 26 years working experience as a teacher and teacher educator with the Ministry of Education, Malaysia before joining LeapEd in 2017. Jayanti graduated from the University of Malaya with a B.Ed (TESL) and M.Ed (Edu Tech). Jayanti pursued her doctorate in Instructional Technology and Distance Education (ITDE) from NSU, USA. She also has a PG Cert in Professional Development, a trainer training qualification from the University of St Marks & St John, Plymouth, UK, and is a certified HRDF trainer.
Her work in the Ministry involved heading initiatives under the Malaysia Education Blueprint (MEB) in teacher education and working with other ministries on G2G projects and meetings (ASEAN, Commonwealth, etc). As a British Council Hornby School Asia, scholar and certified e-moderator, Jayanti taught English within the context of using technology. She has developed language-based curricula and various programmes to teach English in a multimedia-rich environment. Based on her research on language education in the country, Jayanti has presented at national and international conferences (IATEFL, UK, Intel Summit, Vietnam, Teacher Educator Conference, India, etc.).
At LeapEd, she is currently heading the company’s flagship programme, TSP 2.0, as the Project Lead and involved in engaging the government sector under the Public-Private Partnership initiative and is in the process of being a certified ICF Coach. When Jayanti is not engrossed in her work life, you can find her dancing and playing music-Indian classical- a balance between her logical thinking and artistic nature which has taught her life lessons of humility, perseverance and resilience.
