Course Overview

This workshop is designed for individuals working directly and indirectly with children. It serves as a refresher to organisations already adopting good practice and also supports those wanting to broaden their skillsets to ensure the best safeguarding of children under their care.

  • Not knowing the difference between Child Protection and Safeguarding
  • Not being able to recognise the different types of abuse and neglect and how to respond appropriately
  • Not knowing and understanding roles and responsibilities in protection and prevention
  • A lack of collective understanding in institutions, schools, and organisations on how policies, procedures, and guidelines protect the child and the organisation

Solutions:

  • Using relevant real-world scenarios to understand the difference between the terms Child Protection and Safeguarding
  • Learning how policies, procedures, and guidelines create a preventative culture for child safeguarding
  • Exploring case studies on how to best manage disclosures and safeguarding concerns
  • Effectively planning for next steps for Safeguarding and Child Protection in your organisation

  • Price: RM350.00 per participant (including SST)
  • Date: 8 & 9 June 2021 (Tue & Wed)
  • Time: 3.00pm-5.00pm on both days

Meet your trainer

Rajveen Kaur

Rajveen holds a degree in English and Education, a Postgraduate degree in Commerce, and a Master’s in International Business Management from the University of Otago, New Zealand.

An experienced programme developer, education designer and training specialist with a deep understanding of quality management in an education environment, Rajveen has conducted a range of training & development workshops. These include internal capacity building, delivering external programmes ranging from teaching and learning, school improvement planning, quality assurance, student well-being and knowledge sharing sessions.  Rajveen is a HRDF certified trainer and an ACP certified coach. She is currently pursuing her ACC qualification with ICF (International Coaching Federation). Rajveen was part of the team working on LeapEd’s policy, procedures and guidelines for Child Protection & Safeguarding and still works closely with the leadership team and safeguarding leads on matters in this area.
